Curzon Country Cinema were going to show “42nd Street” and “1917” in November but sadly the Covid-19 restrictions meant that these terrific films had to be cancelled.
We can’t be sure that the position is going to be any different in December, so in the hope that it will have improved by the New Year the two films have been re-booked at the Village Hall for January – “42nd Street” on Saturday 9th at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm) and “1917” on Saturday 16th at 7.20pm (doors open at 7pm).
All social distancing and other Covid-19 measures will apply. The number of seats will be limited, so you should book and pay online – at www.curzoncountrycinema.co.uk. Tickets are £10 for “42nd Street” and £5 for “1917”.
Information about the films was given in the November magazine. Both films are special ones – the hit musical “42nd Street” was filmed live in the West End at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and “1917”, made by Sam Mendes, tells the true life story of two young British lance corporals in the First World War finding their way across a war torn Europe to deliver a vital message.
We have few opportunities at the present time to go out for a treat and here are two chances for you to do that safely in the village.
